2.5 cups Freshly Ground Chuck
8 Slices Deli-Counter American Cheese
4 Large Burger Buns
2 teaspoons Salt
2 teaspoons Onion Powder
2 teaspoons Black Pepper
Ketchup
Mayonnaise
Thousand Island Dressing
Sliced Red Onion
Sliced Tomatoes
Sliced Pickles
Fresh Lettuce Leaves

Steps:

  • 01 - In a large bowl, mix Ground Beef, Onion Powder, Salt and Pepper until just combined. ( Do not overmix ) 02 - Divide into six portions and form patties, without pressing too hard. ( Smooth out any cracks using your fingers. Make these right before you grill them, so they stay at room temperature ) 03 - Preheat your grill, grill pan or cast-iron skillet to high heat and add burger patties. ( If using a grill, cover with the lid ) 04 - Cook until a little crust starts forming, about 2 minutes. 05 - Flip over and add 2 slices of Cheese. ( Close lid if using a grill )06 - Remove Burgers with a sturdy metal spatula and transfer to a plate. 07 - Allow to rest for several minutes, then transfer to buns. 08 - Garnish as desired and serve immediately.

2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 garlic clove, minced
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon steak sauce
1/4 teaspoon cider vinegar
1 pound ground beef
4 slices sharp cheddar cheese
4 hamburger buns, split and toasted
8 cooked bacon strips
Optional toppings: lettuce leaves and tomato, onion and pickle slices

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the first seven ingredients. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well. Shape into four patties., Grill burgers, covered, over medium heat or broil 3 in. from the heat for 4-7 minutes on each side or until a thermometer reads 160° and juices run clear. Top with cheese. Grill 1 minute longer or until cheese is melted. Serve on buns with bacon and toppings of your choice.
