cod, cut into 4 strips

Kosher salt

Freshly ground black pepper

1/2 c.

all-purpose flour

1

large egg, beaten

2 c.

panko bread crumbs

1 tsp.

Old Bay seasoning

Lemon wedges, for serving

Tartar sauce, for serving

Steps:

  • Pat fish dry and season on both sides with salt and pepper.  Place flour, egg, and panko in three shallow bowls. Add Old Bay to panko and toss to combine. Working one at a time, coat fish in flour, then in egg, and finally in panko, pressing to coat. Working in batches, place fish in basket of air fryer and cook at 400° for 10 to 12 minutes, gently flipping halfway through, or until fish is golden and flakes easily with a fork.  Serve with lemon wedges and tartar sauce.

Crumbed fish is one of my favorite fried items, and this air-fried version of the recipe gives me great flavor without the fat.

1 cup dry bread crumbs
¼ cup vegetable oil
4 flounder fillets
1 egg, beaten
1 lemon, sliced

Steps:

  • Preheat an air fryer to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
  • Mix bread crumbs and oil together in a bowl. Stir until mixture becomes loose and crumbly.
  • Dip fish fillets into the egg; shake off any excess. Dip fillets into the bread crumb mixture; coat evenly and fully.
  • Lay coated fillets gently in the preheated air fryer. Cook until fish flakes easily with a fork, about 12 minutes. Garnish with lemon slices.

  • Preheat air fryer to 400°. Peel and cut potatoes lengthwise into 1/2-in.-thick slices; cut slices into 1/2-in.-thick sticks., In a large bowl, toss potatoes with oil, pepper and salt. Working in batches, place potatoes in a single layer on tray in air-fryer basket; cook until just tender, 5-10 minutes Toss potatoes to redistribute; cook until lightly browned and crisp, 5-10 minutes longer. , Meanwhile, in a shallow bowl, mix flour and pepper. In another shallow bowl, whisk egg with water. In a third bowl, toss cornflakes with cheese and cayenne. Sprinkle fish with salt. Dip into flour mixture to coat both sides; shake off excess. Dip in egg mixture, then in cornflake mixture, patting to help coating adhere. , Remove fries from basket; keep warm. Place fish in a single layer on tray in air-fryer basket.
