Crispy and spicy chicken wings made in the air fryer. That is right! No deep frying in oil required.

1 kg Chicken Wings
1 tbsp Baking Powder
1 Lemon (squeezed)
1 Cup All-Purpose Flour
1 tbsp Cooking Oil Spray (low calorie)
1 tbsp Cayenne Pepper
1/4 tsp Paprika
1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
1/4 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Black Pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat the air fryer on 200°C or 400°F. 
  • Add to your mixing bowl the chicken wings and spicy seasoning. Massage for several minutes.
  • To another bowl, add the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and spicy seasoning. Stir to combine.
  • Spray your air fryer basket with low-calorie oil and prepare one batch at a time for best results. Coat the chicken wings in the flour, generously, and place in the air fryer basket.
  • Cook for 15 minutes but turn the wings half way through.
  • Once cooked, remove the first batch and add the second batch (and follow step 5 again).
  • Serve and enjoy

1?½ pounds chicken wings and drummettes
2 teaspoons olive oil
1 tablespoon smoked paprika
1 tablespoon chili powder
1?½ teaspoons ground cumin
1?½ teaspoons onion powder
1?½ teaspoons garlic powder
1?½ teaspoons ground black pepper
1?½ teaspoons kosher salt
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper, or more to taste

Steps:

  • Rinse chicken and pat dry. Place in a large bowl, drizzle with oil, and toss to coat.
  • Combine paprika, chili powder, cumin, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne in a small bowl. Sprinkle over chicken and toss until evenly covered.
  • Preheat an air fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) according to manufacturer's instructions.
  • Arrange chicken in the basket of the preheated air fryer in a single layer, not touching. Cook until no longer pink at the bone and the juices run clear, about 12 minutes, turning halfway through. An instant-read thermometer inserted near the bone should read 165 degrees F (74 degrees C). For crispier wings, increase temperature to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and cook for 2 to 3 minutes more.
  • Let rest for a few minutes before serving.
