This recipe appeared in an old community cookbook from Searcy, Arkansas. It's the simplest cobbler recipe around!

1 cup milk
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional) or 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (optional)
1 (21 ounce) can fruit pie filling

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  • Place the stick of butter in a 9X13 baking dish, and pop in the oven until the butter is melted.
  • Stir together the milk, flour, sugar and baking powder.
  • Pour mixture into the hot pan.
  • Spoon the pie filling into the pan.
  • DO NOT STIR!
  • Bake for 40 minutes until the crust is brown.
  • Delicious served warm with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

This is my Mama's cobbler recipe and this is my favorite dessert in the world. SO easy to make and so delicious.

1 stick(s) butter
1 cup(s) self rising flour
1 cup(s) milk
1 cup(s) sugar
1 can(s) any fruit pie filling, 20 oz

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Place the stick of butter in a glass 9x13 baking dish and sit in the oven to melt the butter while mixing the ingredients. In a mixing bowl combine the flour, milk and sugar, mix well. Take the baking dish out of the oven and pour the batter in on top of the melted butter. Drop spoonfuls of the fruit pie filling throughout the batter evenly. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown.
