This simple syrup is more concentrated and slightly thicker han the most common 1-to-1 ratio simple syrup. Use it on cocktails or as a easy sweetener for anything from marinades to salad dressings.

1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup water

Steps:

  • Combine sugar and 1/2 cup water in a small saucepan. Cook over medium-high, stirring constantly, until sugar is dissolved, about 2 minutes. Let cool completely, about 30 minutes. Store in an airtight container in refrigerator up to 2 weeks.
